In-Service Webinars
Remote Live In-Service (RLI) and Recorded Webinars are educational courses provided by Passy-Muir clinical specialists on topics related to the assessment and treatment of patients with tracheostomies, including speaking valve use. The weekly schedule of webinars is posted below and is updated by Monday of each week. To participate in these webinars, click on the “Join Webinar” link located beside the scheduled webinar date and time that you prefer.

Individuals who are not present for the full program will not be recommended for continuing education credit. No partial credit will be provided. If viewing a recorded RLI, participants must complete a quiz and course evaluation for continuing education credit.

NOTA: The live webinars are approved for continuing education credit for speech-language pathologists and nurses only.
Respiratory therapists may still view live webinars for general CE credit.
Due to the substantial increase — over 100% — in the fees charged by AARC to register live continuing education courses, we no longer provide public live webinars for AARC CRCE credit. However, we are continuing to offer free recorded (non-traditional) webinars that are fully registered for AARC CRCEs.
Respiratory therapists wanting CRCEs are invited to watch our scheduled recorded programs, visit our on-demand library for current AARC-registered offerings, or schedule a private webinar for current AARC-registered offerings.

Kristin King, PhD, CCC-SLP
With over 25 years of experience in medical, academic, and industry settings, Dr. King brings a unique perspective to medical speech-language pathology. With a focus on neurological disease processes, her research and teachings have investigated traumatic brain injury, swallowing disorders, and aspects of critical care (tracheostomy and mechanical ventilation). Devan Clark, MS, CCC-SLP
Devan Clark earned her undergraduate degree in Biology in Oklahoma and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has worked throughout the continuum of care with adults, children, and neonates. She is currently working in an acute care setting, serving patients from the NICU to adult. Devan has specialized in the care of patients with tracheostomies and the medically complex, including ECMO, transplant, LVAD, trauma, and burn ICU. Corey Mohnike, BS, RRT
Corey Mohnike is a registered respiratory therapist. He has practiced at Level II trauma centers, and he began with Passy Muir as a consultant with significant experience regarding the Passy Muir® Valve. His experiences include use of the Valve both as a patient requiring a tracheostomy after a motor vehicle accident and as an RRT working with the Valve in medical facilities. Corey worked at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, a Passy Muir Center of Excellence, in areas that served many ventilator patients using the Valve. He has co-authored multiple procedures regarding Passy Muir Valve assessment and application with patients on mechanical ventilation. He also has served as the Clinical Educator for multidisciplinary staff at both the Bryan Health in Lincoln, Nebraska and at The Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. Tiffany Oakes, MS, CCC-SLP
Tiffany graduated with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2012. She has been a medical SLP in various settings from acute care to home health, treating both the adult and medically complex pediatric populations. Tiffany has experience developing patient care pathways to guide assessment and treatment selection for patients in home health, at both the state and national level. She has participated in research related to patients with TBI and sports concussions, and she has experience with research analysis and writing white papers. She is a volunteer for Remote Area Medical (RAM), assisting with medical services. She also participates in the development of multimedia education related to healthcare and clinical practice.

Gabriela Ortiz earned her Respiratory Care Practitioner license in 2006. She has extensive experience managing patients at different stages of care, including acute, sub-acute, sleep therapy, and homecare. Sara Sak is a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in adult critical care. She has worked with critical care patients in level 1 trauma centers in both Hackensack, NJ and Savannah, GA. She was graduated from Marshall University with an AAS in Respiratory Therapy, from Felician University with a BA in Management/Marketing, and then a Master’s in Education from Armstrong University. Tiffany graduated with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2012. Corey Mohnike is a registered respiratory therapist. He has practiced at Level II trauma centers, and he began with Passy Muir as a consultant with significant experience regarding the Passy Muir® Valve. His experiences include use of the Valve both as a patient requiring a tracheostomy after a motor vehicle accident and as an RRT working with the Valve in medical facilities. Corey worked at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, a Passy Muir Center of Excellence, in areas that served many ventilator patients using the Valve. Michael Harrell has varied experience in respiratory care clinical practice, education, and management. Prior to joining the Passy Muir clinical team in 2005, Michael was Director of Respiratory Care with Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida. Lisa Ziller has worked in a variety of settings, gaining experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with skills in management, provision of services as a clinical specialist and preceptor, and clinical management as a bedside therapist in Acute and Long-Term Care, as well as LTACH facilities. Kristin Lascano is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and has varied experiences in respiratory care. Kristin’s background in respiratory therapy started in a NICU and transport of the neonatal patient. Her career continued into the adult acute care setting. Throughout her career, Kristin has assisted with multiple areas of clinical education for multidisciplinary team members, including mock code training, art line insertions, and ABCDE protocols in the ICU. Rachel O’Hare started her respiratory therapy career in the United States Army Reserves where she served 13 years and did one tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning home, she began working as a traveler and has worked in hospitals across the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She has a very broad knowledge in respiratory care and has worked in all patient care areas, including Adult ICU, Pediatric ICU, and Neonatal ICU. She also has worked in a pulmonary function lab in addition to long-term care. In 2018, Rachel began to pursue her passion of teaching, advancing her career away from the bedside into becoming a clinical educator for critical care ventilation products. She spent the last few years working as a regional clinical educator, providing clinical education and support for all of Northern California before joining the Passy Muir clinical team in 2022.
